IN MEMORIAM / 1946–2026

Arch C. Davis, P.E.

The inventor behind the architecture.

His engineering vision lives on in the technology and the people carrying it forward.

Restored portrait of Arch C. Davis

A lifetime of engineering.
An enduring contribution.

Arch Davis, founder of Davis Systems, developed the power and server architecture on which Ritheum builds today.

He brought decades of high-performance computing experience to a fundamental question: how could computers do their work while wasting less energy?

His answer centered on 48-volt DC power and a server design intended to operate in warmer environments. That work laid the foundation for Ritheum’s approach to integrated data center systems.

THE ENGINEER

Arch C. Davis, P.E.

A licensed Professional Engineer and founder of Davis Systems, with a career spanning five decades in high-performance computing.

THE INVENTION

The 48-volt architecture

Years of development brought the power architecture and DSi server designs from early prototypes into physical hardware.

THE LEGACY

Knowledge carried forward

The DSi name honors Arch Davis. His work continues through the people who developed and tested the hardware alongside him.

With gratitude.
With purpose.

Ritheum honors Arch’s contribution by carrying his engineering vision forward with care, continued development and a commitment to more efficient computing.
